As well, estimates for 2011 ad revenue for Facebook are $1.76 billion which is an increase of 165% from 2009-2011!!! Unbelievable numbers and yet not a big surprise given how Social Media is changing communications and our lives. I got some great feedback at the Annual Meeting about how different retail is today, and it only seems like yesterday that we had the first Internet Christmas in 1999! I was honored to give the keynote address on the Impact of Social Media to the Texas Retailers Association 50th Annual Meeting in San Antonio last week. It has been fascinating to observe the evolution and changes brought about by the Internet, and now Social Media is on the forefront.
